My passion, desire, restlessness, insecurity, despair (life is really felt in absence) are filtered in the serenity of my music. Heart/soul, time, space and silence are essential (without silence no music !), so one can escape into the music, another reality, an alternative beautiful (dream) world and maybe even unravel the mystery of life or may find fudge ;)

I would like to invite the listener to imagine their own dream world, to think the impossible in order to go beyond the horizon and reach your promised land .. with belief, hope, love and a joie de vivre, dreams may come true - Anne Vanschothorst

This is such an exciting project for me to share. During these crazy times creativity is still flowing therefore I am so happy and proud to share this amazing piano project ft. Jeroen van Vliet and Maarten Vos. My harp improvisations changed into sheet music and Jeroen transformed the written note-scores in his home-studio and made the music his own. Ambient and reflective. Then I selected two piano tracks that I transferred to Maarten, he gave my composition edge and just enough discomfort to balance the dreamy piano. Beautiful sonic landscapes appeared.. Harriet van Reek illustrated a fantastic place where one can wander, escape and dream; an imaginary landscape that truly complements the story.

'Ze is harpiste en componiste, van toegepaste muziek, zoals ze dat zelf noemt. Ze voegt haar muziek graag aan een ander spoor, van beelden, of poëzie bijvoorbeeld.

En ook als haar noten op zichzelf staan, dan hebben ze evidente een filmische kwaliteit, film zonder film zou je kunnen zeggen. Nu brengt Anne Vanschothorst een EP uit (bij de streamingdiensten), met vijf stukken voor pianosolo. Ze worden gespeeld door Jeroen van Vliet (prachtig!) en bij twee tracks heeft Maarten Vos er een soundscape aan toegevoegd, die voor extra spanning zorgt. Soundscape, dat is ook een goed woord voor deze muziek: landschappen in klank, waar het goed toeven is, waar je kunt dwalen en verdwalen. Voor Anne Vanschothorst zijn het een soort dromen, bubbels buiten de maar al te rauwe werkelijkheid.

Het eerste track heet Heimwee, en herinnert aan een bezoek aan IJsland, solitair landschap, waar een gevoel van 'saudade' binnensloop, om het op zijn Portugees te zeggen, een onvervulbaar verlangen.

Met het laatste nummer, The tide turned, bewijst ze eer aan schrijfster en filosofe Joke Hermsen, die in coronatijd een inspiratiebron bleek. Ook als kunstenaar moet je niet bij de pakken neer gaan zitten.'
